1. Cupcake Prosecco NV (Italy) $8

Cupcake Vineyards

Cupcake Vineyard's Prosecco is a fun, sparkling addition to the Cupcake portfolio.  Offering Old World Italian charm in a light and airy format, this sparkler brings citrus to the forefront with solid acidity from start to finish.  A favorite budget-friendly sparkling wine!

3. Ironstone Obsession Symphony 2009 (CA) $8

Ironstone's Obsession Symphony

If you happen to be looking for a new "cheap wine" to try this one's a keeper!  Ironstone's Symphony is a lighter-styled white wine with decadent floral aromatic, ripe apricot and subtle citrus on the palate.  This is a tried and true everyday white wine that is just plain delicious!

4. Apothic Red Wine 2009 (CA) $10

Apothic Red

Apothic Red brings a tasty blend of Zinfandel, Syrah and Merlot with ample fruit and plenty of food-pairing versatility.  This is an easy wine to like on several fronts:  the price, the fruit forward appeal and it's perfect for everything from pizza to pasta.

5. Yellow Tail Reserve Shiraz 2008 (Australia) $8

Looking for a good, value-conscious Shiraz?  The Yellow Tail Reserve Shiraz fits that bill and more.  From the bright berry fruit - largely black cherry and blackberry playing in peppery spice, to the mocha character and decent tannin structure, this red from Down Under brings big fruit and solid value from the get go.

6. Chateau Ste. Michelle Columbia Valley Riesling 2010 (WA) $9

Chateau Ste. Michelle

As one of America's most popular Rieslings in the value-wine market, this off-dry Riesling brings plenty of sweet peach and lemon-lime nuances to the glass.  A favorite for taming the hot spice of Thai or other hot Asian fare, this well-priced Riesling is equally refreshing on its own.

7. Robert Mondavi Private Selection Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 (CA) $10

This is a yummy value-driven California Cab, bringing plenty of dark cherry, plum and blackberry fruit to the table.  The Mondavi Private Selection tier focuses on fruit-forward, approachable wines that make their mark as "everyday" wines for dinner or impromptu gatherings.  This one is delicious with milk chocolate!

8. Clos du Bois Chardonnay 2009 (CA) $10

Clos du Bois is a terrific everyday white wine with full-flavor and full-body.  The fruit structure leans heavily towards green apple and Bosc pear, with a creamy texture and buttery character.  Although this wine only makes the $10 mark when you find it on sale, it is a staple when it comes to consistent Chardonnay at a very reasonable price.

9. Rancho Zabaco Dancing Bull Zinfandel 2009 (CA) $9

Made for today, this friendly Zin is ready to rock with its cherry, raspberry and blackberry components, a dash of pepper and medium-bodied style.

10. Smoking Loon Syrah 2009 (CA) $10

Don & Sons
The 2007 Smoking Loon Syrah is a dynamite deal for just $10 a pop. The nose gives you hints of chocolate dipped strawberries and the palate reveals dark cherry, cranberry and a bit of blueberry. On the palate evolution you'll notice some earthy undertones and a bit of pepper. This Syrah has an intensity that can stand up to a variety of flavorful and well-seasoned red meat dishes.

THE LIITLE PENGUIN - South Eastern Australia
$7.99 NYC Price

I have tried the Chardonnay and the Merlot.
Sound like boring choices, I know. But they were both surprisingly light yet complex. Really drinkable with or without food. Really great and reliable quality for the price!
