Do you refold napkins if a guest leaves their seat and place it on the chair or beside their plate?

This is what I was taught but some companies frown upon it saying it's unsanitary to touch thier napkins with your hands.

Personally I think it shows great attentive service.

Thoughts anyone?

I think it's great!

The triangle fold is the way to go. Just lay the napkin to the left of the setting.

a company i worked for said you shouldn't because the guest will expect that you have given then a fresh, clean napkin and when they see it's their same old food encrusted one they might complain.

we are talking linen napkins, aren't we?

*chuckle*

Rule house always, proffesional always but think for save the money depends where you work:)
